When xtian first added me to this blog he said I should come up with segment titles for repeated themes. I think this will be the first post in a series I am going to refer to as "A Quick WTF".
For those of you who are voters out there (better be ALL OF YOU!!!!), you should have received your sample ballot today. Did anyone else notice the order in which the presidential candidates are listed? Anyone else worried? With the 2000 election Florida fiasco in mind, I immediately noticed an oddity to the order in which they are listed. It puts McCain at the top so you would think Obama would be right there under him, but no. He is the second to last candidate listed. This might not be a problem if they were listed in alphabetical order, either by name or party, but they are not. Why are they ordered that way? I fear that people are going to look at the list of candidates, see McCain first, and say to themselves, "I recognize that name", and then they will vote for him without even seeing Obama as a choice (yes people can be that stupid). I mean think about it, if college professors want to trick you on exams, they will put the answer that is closest to correct as the first answer in a multiple choice question with hopes that you will see it and not even look at other answers. This ballot is the same thing. It is a conspiracy for the white man dammit! That is the only explanation. Whitey is going to do anything possible to win this election and playing these sick psychological games is only one example of how low he will stoop.

agreed. thats pretty fuckin ridiculous. you think they will change it for the real ballot? surely someone besides yourself has noticed and commented on the blatant last chance for mccain
Seems like alphabetical would be the fairest, and because it might give Bob Barr (double B's) a little edge. But yea, good point about the exam multiple choice questions. A similar tactic. I really wonder what their method was for ordering. Although I really can't see any way that McCain could win. Palin is now synonymous with "unfit" and I think the stats are that McCain has a 1/5 chance of dying in the next four years. Dr. Dean on KGO mentioned a funny and accurate analogy of Palin that someone told him...
While suturing a laceration on the hand of a 70-year-old Texas rancher (whose hand had caught in a gate while working cattle), a doctor and the old man were talking about George W. Bush being in the White House.
The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a 'post turtle'."
Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.
The old man said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just want to help the poor stupid guy get down."
haha. post turtle. nice story. (andy's shortest comment ever)
3rd Presidential Debate: Andy's Thoughts
-Did I really hear McCain say Palin will be a "breast of fresh air" in the White House?
-Despite his elderly appearance and the waddle/limp when he walks, McCain often reminds me of that guy in elementary school we all knew who liked to kick the back of your chair and throw water balloons at the girls.
-He also smiles far too much in the debates, always looking like he has some hilarious joke that's going to spill out. If he does, I wish he would just say the joke.
-Another funny Mccain slip was "senator government" when he meants to say "senator obama".
I think this debate answered more of my questions than the previous one. (Which I guess is fitting).
But I already voted anyway...
Obama for prez!
